  • Hi Fly makes history with first Airbus A330 landing in Antarctica

    December 03, 2025 1 min read

Hi Fly has successfully landed an Airbus A330 on Antarctica’s blue-ice runway at Wolf’s Fang, marking a first for the airline and a new milestone in its Antarctic operations. The touchdown on 1 December at 11:59 p.m. local time comes just a month after the carrier celebrated five consecutive years of flights to the White Continent.

This follows Hi Fly’s 2021 achievement as the first airline to operate an A340 in Antarctica. Captain Mirpuri, who commanded both missions, said: “Landing in Antarctica is never routine… Introducing the A330 to this remote runway highlights our commitment to innovation and operational excellence in polar aviation.”
