IndiGo’s week-long meltdown isn’t easing, and passengers are still paying the price. After days of mass cancellations triggered by crew-planning failures, airports across India are now overwhelmed with hundreds of unclaimed bags as ground teams struggle to keep up.
At major hubs like Delhi and Mumbai, luggage halls are backed up with piles of suitcases waiting to be matched, with some travellers reporting delays of 24–48 hours just to retrieve their bags. With IndiGo cancelling over 1,000 flights in a single day earlier this week, the backlog has snowballed nationwide.
Regulators have stepped in, ordering IndiGo to clear separated baggage quickly and improve communication with stranded passengers. Ground staff are working flat out — but the system is clearly stretched.
